While it may seem more "raw" than the original to not mix out the singers" compensations (i.e. singing "t" sound instead of "d" sound) the lack of polish was far inferior to the original. Furthermore, if you"re going to stick to the same story to the original, you can"t cut out or abbreviate songs as they did. One last note on the audio, the mastering was terrible. all over the place. As the original was highly prized for its music, this attempt really is a slap in the face.
On casting, for the most part not too bad. The primary issue i had was with the actor playing Timon. what? Why not pick someone who can at least act a personality? His role of "guru" in the storyline was completely absent. There was no semblance of chemistry between he and Pumba. I like the actor that voiced Pumba, but there needed to be more personality added considering they couldn"t compensate using animation. These two characters are the primary influence on the young Simba, and therefore are even more important to get correct than Nala. Huge failure here as well. I liked everyone else. I thought Scar lacked the evil flare not being Jeremy Irons, but he did fairly well.
Lastly, terrible choices in elongating certain scenes for emphasis. Mufasa"s death scene should"ve been way shorter. There must have been millions of wildebeests running by. Emphasizing this scene just further points out the illogical process of trying to rescue Simba any further. Once he laid low on the hillside, no need to do anything but run alongside the wildebeests. other scenes had this issue as well, no need to elaborate.
All around, it could"ve been good, but wasn"t. And by not making it at least as good as the original, it just puts a black eye on the whole project. Disney would"ve done better to just make it a different story altogether.

I was worried originally, because Lion King was my favorite movie as a kid and original reviews were bad. I saw it and I fell in love with the movie all over. I cannot say which version I prefer, because I think they both create a different journey through the same story. The graphics look amazing, they were more true to the animal movements and interactions. The biggest complaint I have heard is the lack of emotions. Yes, it"s not a cartoon, but just watch the body movements and the emotions are there. To me it is similar to saying your dog or cat has no emotions, just look at the body language. Some characters have changed slightly, but I enjoy the new portrayal. It keeps a nostalgic feel while giving the Lion King a new twist. I would honestly enjoy if they did Lion King 1 1/2 and 2.

It"s always great watching two different villains from different parts of the same series having a showdown. This scene was great. What I can"t stand in movies is how it will cut to a scene out of the blue with out giving any details on the one before this happened alot during the movie not for me if i watch it again it will be when i can get it cheap on dvd.

I like Stephen and read many of his books and watched many movies; we know very well that many are bmovies but that"s okay. It is not good, instead, to make a film as a sequel to a masterpiece, because the comparison is inevitable and it already starts badly. And indeed, it gets worse. If it wasn"t for the sound of the popcorn muncher sitting at a couple of rows from me, I would have fallen asleep several times. Ah yes, some jump scares have helped me stay awake too, especially for the good quality and the very high volume of the speakers in the theatre. Most of the acting, including Ewan McGregor, who does not revive the lackluster character, is certainly not very bright. Rebecca Ferguson is good and animates a credible and powerful Rose the Hat; Mike Flanagan"s direction is undoubtedly very good.

I really love this movie, Its like a superhero movie but its got some horror things in it! I love it. But the in the end Danny went crazy and got a white eye cringe.

Ewan McGregor is one of my favourite actors and he killed it! A great sequel i never thought would get. I really feel this scene as a child whos father died from his demons (addiction. 2:56 damn shame they didnt get Jack Nicholson approval to cgi his face onto HIS character. They huffed Rose more than I huff Gas and Wood ??. This movie didnt get the support it deserved in theatres. Let this man direct Nightmare on Elm Street.

Too bad Stephen King doesn"t make a cameo in this movie. I thought King will play a role as one of the Overlook ghosts in this movie. Ewan McGregor = instant click. Definitely, to my mind, one of the very best interpretations of Stephen King"s work. 2:57 Who, may I ask is playing Jack in this scene, or is it archival footage of Jack Nicholson. I really wanted to like this one. A mixed bag if there ever was one. The second half of the movie is much better. I didn"t get the sense of a typical three act structure. I laughed way to much for this being a horror movie. Rose the Hat and her "cult" if you want to call it that, were not scary whatsoever. They were almost comical, maybe that was done on purpose. The only things that got to me were the annoying jump scares. The dialogue and script were the worst part, I think. Our two mains are not terrible, yet not great either. Ewan McGregor really tries with what he is given. Not a fantastic or memorable score. Mike Flanagan had a tough job following The Shining, nearly forty years after its release. Especially in the last scenes, it depends to much on the previous work. I kept thinking that I would rather be at home watching The Shining on VHS with some microwave popcorn. I wasn"t expecting that much from Doctor Sleep, but it didn"t live up to the hype that Stephen King built up on Twitter. Its an accurate title, though, as I yawned several times throughout this one.

The most underrated film of 2019 I found it to be brilliant and the directors cut was outstanding. The most unrealistic thing about this movie is that he turned down Rebecca Ferguson. Neat seen this one before. wanna see one more??? I loved that bit. 4:26 Ok guys, let"s go back in the boxes. guys. I seen this in theaters. When the ghosts ate Rose everyone was clapping and cheering, but then the ghosts turned on Danny and then everybody was like “aww damn... ”.

It is the second Disney movie this year after the incredible Zootopia that was released back in February, and now I can say it is the second incredible movie released by Disney in 2016. Moana is a very interesting and touching movie about a girl named Moana (Vaiana) who dreams of sailing the world. She is voiced by Auli"i Cravalho who does a fantastic job on the role with her insanely talented voice, singing all the wonderful songs that will very soon be considered as classics. Dwayne Johnson is great (as per usual) as Maui - a legendary shapeshifting demigod. He brings such a fun, lovely, and comforting voice to his character that very few actors can do. And he is great at singing too, which was a surprise for me. It also has great animation, with incredible visuals as we"ve come to expect in Disney movies nowadays. I truly believe that in this decade, Disney has absolutely taken over the reigns in the film industry, and especially on the animation side of things. With movies like Tangled, Wreck-it Ralph, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Zootopia and now Moana, Disney shows no sign of stopping in their road to greatness and taking over the world.

Moana actually looks her age and i appreciate that. It"s been several years but Disney seems to have found its groove again when it comes to animated films. "Moana" is by far the best they"ve made in years.
The soundtrack is catchy but NOT annoying like some of their other more recent films ( t stand "Let it Go. In fact I rushed home to purchase a few of the songs from this picture, and for the record I"m a 33-year old male.
The story doesn"t take itself too seriously, but knows exactly when to stop being silly and deliver a dose of reality. Very minimal cast helped the decently paced 2 hour adventure focus on character development and report. Not that ensembles are bad, but this technique really gave Auli"i Cravalho (Moana) a chance to stand on her own and shine. And shine she did.
Great film children and parents a like will enjoy. I cannot recommended it highly enough.
